Hello, everyone! We are very excited about the upcoming 2019 National Tournament at Johnson University, FLORIDA, June 16-20! We wanted to give you some details to help you get started planning for this summer! You can find the schedule here, and continue reading for information regarding registration, transportation, and housing. Please note that housing will work differently this year, so please read carefully.
This year you will not have to pay the full registration when you register, but you will be required to pay a deposit of $65. The remaining balance ($160 for on-campus, $100 for off-campus) will be due at check-in and can be paid by check, cash (must bring exact amount), or credit card.
Please note that all groups are responsible for their own transportation, including airport transportation. We will not be providing any local transportation.
The housing situation will vary from year to year. This year, we have a very limited housing situation at Johnson University Florida. We have negotiated reasonable rates at nearby hotels and condominiums for overflow and for anyone preferring to stay off-campus. Each group staying off campus is free to make their own housing accommodations at those hotels or elsewhere. There will be two separate registration fees: one for those staying on campus ($225), and another for those staying off campus ($165). BOTH REGISTRATION OPTIONS INCLUDE ALL MEALS. For those wishing to stay on campus, please read and follow the housing procedure carefully.
The suites consist of 2 bedrooms with 2 beds each, a living area with a couch, and an on-suite bathroom with dual sinks, which means each suite can sleep from four to five people (with the fifth person sleeping on the couch). We will attempt to limit each suite to 4 people, however we will have to add a fifth person to many of the suites (depending upon group size) in order to maximize the available space. We will do everything we can to avoid mixing groups in a suite, but if a group has fewer than 4 people in a gender, we will be adding others from another group to your suite. Because of this limitation, the only family housing we will be able to provide is for families of 4 or 5.
All suites are air conditioned. Please remember that you will need to bring your own bedding (linens, blankets, pillows, etc.) as well as toiletries (towels, soaps, shampoos, etc.). Toilet paper is provided in each room by the college.
Procedure: Rooms will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. On January 7th, an online sign-up sheet will become active. Signing up on this sheet DOES NOT guarantee admittance into the tournament*. You will need to tell us the number of each gender you are requesting at this time, but you will not have to pay when you sign up. Registration for the National Tournament will open on January 14th, and you will be notified on or before January 14th if you are in on-campus housing. However, you must have registered and paid the deposit for all people staying on campus by March 15th, otherwise you will lose your spot for on-campus housing and your room will be released to those on the waiting list.
You are free to make your own housing arrangements, but these are the recommended properties. You must reserve your room directly with the hotel in order to get our specially negotiated rate. Call the phone number listed and mention that you are with BIBLE BOWL when reserving your room(s). DO NOT USE THEIR WEB SITE OR YOU WILL GET THE STANDARD RATE. Please note that these properties may fill up with general summer visitors; we recommend reserving your room early.
Also, please be very careful reserving a room at a nearby hotel that is not on our list, as there are several establishments that are NOT family friendly. Specifically, DO NOT reserve a room at the Secrets Hideaway or the Unno Boutique Hotel.

*There is a 64 team limit for this year’s National Tournament. If you sign up for on-campus housing but are not one of the first 64 teams to sign up, you will lose your spot for on campus housing.
