“Revelation/The Church is Born” Announcements
NEW: PLAYER PORTFOLIO:
- An exciting addition to the registration system allows you to see everything a player has participated in during his/her time in Bible Bowl! Upon logging into the system, click a player’s name, and his/her history will display. Special thanks to Ben Kuhl for this exciting new feature!
MEMORY MASTER CHANGE:
- We will no longer be mailing out a physical certificate for Memory Master achievers. You can print a personalized certificate yourself by signing into the registration system and clicking on the player’s name (see above under Player Portfolio). This will bring up a list of everything that player has participated in, including Memory Master, with a link to print his/her certificate.
- The deadline printed in the Teen and Beginner Study Guides for reporting Memory Master achievement should be changed to June 1. Once the season is over, you will no longer be able to opt-in to the Memory Master achiever award, and we cannot change this for you after it has closed.
SOFTWARE UPDATE:
- If you are running version 2025.70 or greater of the software, then you are updated and do not need to read this bulletin.
- If you are not running at least version 2025.70, there have been major technical changes which will necessitate a reinstall in order for Update Manager to work properly. Please do the following:
- Uninstall 1 of the Spring 2025 programs (you don’t need to uninstall them all)
- Re-download the .zip file for that program from the original email.
- Reinstall from the new .zip
- Verify that Update Manager is now version 2025.70. If it is not, then you are not installing from the new .zip download
- Once you have version 2025.70 of update manager, run it to update all other software you have to at least version 2025.70
- Please email office@biblebowl.org if you need help. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

RULE 2.5.4.1 IS CHANGED TO:
For all answers, including questions requiring specific answers, players who buzz in early are not permitted to repeat words in the question to stall for time to think of the answer. Players will be counted incorrect if they:
- Give an answer in the form of a question.
Example. If the question is “Where did Jesus perform his first miracle,” the player who buzzes in early and begins answering saying, “Where did Jesus perform his first miracle…Cana” is not correct. Player cannot simply repeat the question. S/he must answer it.
- Are, in the quizmaster’s judgment, pausing unnaturally between words (in addition to the one pause allowed in rule 2.5.1.3).
Example: Player buzzes in early and says, “Jesus… (pauses)… went… (pauses)… to… (pauses)… Cana.
Players are allowed to give the following:
- The required answer
- The required answer’s direct modifier(s)
- Insignificant words
- Words that are in the question that would naturally be part of answering that question.
Example: The question is “Where did Jesus perform his first miracle?” The answer is “Cana.” Player can buzz and say “Jesus performed his first miracle in Cana of Galilee.
Rule 2.8.0.2 is changed to:
Players are not permitted to buzz until after the Quizmaster has repeated the selected category and point value. However, if a player inadvertently buzzes in before the Quizmaster has read any part of a word into the question (not counting the category and point value), the board will be reset and the game will continue as though the player had not buzzed; otherwise, regular game rules apply and the player will be required to give an answer.
