The National Bible Bowl Tournament is a celebration of the Bible Bowl season. It is a time of fun, fellowship, Bible Bowl competition, and spiritual growth as we worship and celebrate together!

The TENTATIVE schedule may be found here: http://www.biblebowl.org/Data/MailerLite/2023fallNationalsTentativeSchedule.pdf

Please read these details carefully as some policies have changed, particularly regarding late additions and/or refunds.

Registration will open Sept 29 and close Oct 20.

CHECK-IN: 12:30p-1:20p on Friday, December 1 with the opening meeting beginning at 1:30p.

WRAP-UP: We anticipate that awards will wrap up around 4:00p-4:30p on Dec 3. A more detailed tentative schedule will be made available after registration closes.

TEAM LIMIT:

The exact format of the tournament will be determined by the number of teams registered as of the close of registration on Oct 20. At that point, there may or may not be additional team slots available for late registrations. Team slots are awarded on a first-come-first-served basis. Please remember that a team is not registered until all initial fees have been paid, and all players must also be registered for a local league. In the event the tournament fills up and there are teams on the waiting list, groups with multiple teams that could be condensed into fewer teams will be asked to do so. For example, a group with 12 players playing as 4 teams may be asked to condense into 3 teams.

QUIZMASTERS:

Each group will be required to bring 1 quizmaster, then 1 additional quizmaster for every two teams you register. However, we may not need all quizmasters and will do our best to use only quizmasters who wish to quiz.

TEAM COMPETITION:
Team competition will consist of the Quick Draw tournament which seeds into the Championship and Challenger Double-Elimination brackets.

INDIVIDUAL TOURNAMENT:

Players are not required to participate in the Individual Tournament, and you do not need to sign-up, as we leave enough space for all players WHO REGISTER BY THE DEADLINE to participate. The number of slots available is set at the registration deadline, so after that, players registering late might not get a slot in the Individual Tournament.

WRITTEN TEST:

Players are not required to take the Written Test, and you do not need to sign-up as we leave enough space for all players. If a player needs a test accommodation due to a disability, you must email office@biblebowl.org by November 1 to request it and to receive instructions.

QUOTE BEE:

While optional, players must be opted into the Quote Bee BY THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE in order for us to plan for the correct number of rooms. Please check the Quote Bee box next to the player’s name when registering to sign up for it. The number of slots available is set at the registration deadline, so after that, players registering late might not get a slot in the Quote Bee. Players who have not signed up are not allowed to jump into a Quote-Bee room at the event.

FUN AND FELLOWSHIP: We have 2 evenings of fun and fellowship planned! The first night’s activities are sponsored by Central Christian College and will involve games and snacks, and for the second night we have rented out an entire YMCA facility (located around the corner from the college) for basketball, volleyball, pickleball, swimming, and crafts!

SPECTATORS: Spectators are welcome, but adults and minors attending the majority of the event are expected to register. Player fees are set based on the assumption that spectators will register, and failure to do so will necessitate player fees rising significantly in the future.

COST:

Players: $150 ($70 deposit due now, the remaining $80 at check-in)

Quizmaster: $130 ($70 deposit due now, the remaining $60 at check-in)

Adult spectator: $130 ($70 deposit due now, the remaining $60 at check-in)

Minor spectator: $110 ($70 deposit due now, the remaining $40 at check-in)

The balance of the registration fee (after the deposit) will be due at check-in. Please do not send a check to the Bible Bowl office. Should circumstances require you to cancel anyone, the $70 deposit is refundable up to Nov. 1 after which it will be forfeited because by that time we are obligated to pay the host site in anticipation of your commitment to attend.

MEALS:

Included in the cost is supper on Friday, lunch and supper on Saturday, and lunch on Sunday. Breakfast is on your own at your hotel. Any special dietary requests must be emailed to the cafeteria manager at trishadevries@cccb.eduby Nov. 1 and is subject to availability. After this date no special dietary requests will be possible because all food will already have been purchased based on the information as of the deadline. If you opt not to eat in the cafeteria, there is no reduction in registration price. There will be no on-site sale of cafeteria meals and there are no fast-food restaurants immediately adjacent to the college.

HOUSING:

Housing is on your own in local hotels. There are hotels in Moberly, with additional hotels in Macon and Columbia. We suggest you book soon.

HOODIE:
Upon check-in, every person registered before the initial deadline will receive a Bible Bowl hoodie! We will be using the size you specified in the t-shirt field upon registration. PLEASE CHECK THE SIZE because there will be very limitedopportunity to change size on site and remember that you might want your hoodie to be slightly larger than a t-shirt.

DEADLINES TO KEEP IN MIND:

Registration closes: 11:59p on October 20

Additions and/or cancelation refunds: Nov 1

Special dietary needs: Nov 1

Changes to roster: Nov 19 (but no new players or teams can be added after Nov 1)

REITERATING: Please be aware that the drop-dead date for late registrations (space permitting) or cancellations is Nov 1!!! After that you will not be able to register additional players or spectators, and if you cancel you will forfeit your deposit.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email office@biblebowl.org!

We’re super excited about heading West for the first time in many years, and we can’t wait to see you there!
