UPDATE: Apparently there was some confusion regarding the deadline for spectator registration. The deadline was intended to be the same as the team registration deadline. We have opened the registration system again to allow spectators to register. Please have ALL ATTENDEES registered by Saturday, April 20, at noon EST. Thank you!

Greetings! It’s time to start planning for the 2024 Spring Nationals! For those who have never been, think of Nationals as more of a celebration of our Bible Bowl season; it’s part Bible Bowl, part youth rally, and part fellowship time with like-minded Christians from around the nation.

You will find all the details and registration information below. In order to save yourself the trouble of contacting us with questions already answered in this news post, we ask that you read this news post:

DATE AND LOCATION:

  • June 10-13 NOTE THIS IS MONDAY-THURSDAY
  • Milligan University, TN

REGISTRATION:

  • Opens: March 25
  • Closes: April 15
  • Please note that in order to register a player for nationals, that player must also be registered locally.

TEAM LIMIT:

  • We will accept all teams who fully register (including initial deposit) by the registration deadline. You must fully register by the registration deadline to be guaranteed entry. After the registration deadline, the number of additional “slots” (if any) will be set. Note: there may not be any additional slots after registration closes so make sure you register before the deadline.
  • In the event the tournament fills up and there are teams on the waiting list, groups that have multiple teams that could be condensed into fewer teams will be asked to do so. For example, if you have 12 players playing as 4 teams, you may be asked to condense into 3 teams.

COST:

  • Total cost: $275 per player and all adults, $225 per minor non-participating child, and $50 per team.
  • Due now: Due immediately upon registration will be $150 per all attendees and $50 per team.
  • Due at check-in: The remaining balance will be due on site at check-in. Specifically, $125 per player and adult, and $75 per minor non-participating child. Please do not send a check to the Bible Bowl office unless it is sent by May 15. After that, YOU MUST BRING PAYMENT TO CHECK-IN.
  • Should circumstances require you to cancel anyone, the deposit is refundable up to May 15, after which it will be forfeited because by that time we are obligated to pay the host site in anticipation of your commitment to attend. NO EXCEPTIONS.

SPECTATORS: NOTE NEW POLICY. Spectators are welcome provided they follow these rules:

  • Anyone attending for more than 1 day is expected to register. Our negotiated rates and player fees are based on the assumption that spectators will register, and failure to do so will necessitate player fees rising significantly in the future.
  • If you would like to attend for 1 day, you must request a Guest Badge for that day by May 15. If you would like to attend for more than 1 day, you must register.
  • We are a youth event, and for security reasons, we expect all attendees on campus to be wearing a Bible Bowl name badge.
  • The registration deadline is the same as the team registration deadline.

ADULT BACKGROUND CHECK:

  • Milligan is requiring everyone over 18 (except participating players) to provide a background check. Many of you already have one that your church required, and if so, you may provide that. You can use whichever background search company you wish, but one that produces them for $9 is https://www.ciaresearch.com/lifeway Please email a copy of the background checks to office@biblebowl.org

MEALS:

  • Included in the cost is all three meals on Tuesday and Wednesday, as well as breakfast and lunch on Thursday.
  • Special dietary requests must be communicated to office@biblebowl.org no later than May 15 and we will relay the information to the cafeteria manager and let you know if they are able to accommodate you. We will not pass on special dietary requests after the deadline.
  • No meals may be purchased on site and only registered attendees will be permitted inside the cafeteria.
  • Our negotiated prices with our host site are for the entire package; there is no ala-cart registration option. If you opt to not eat in the cafeteria, there is no reduction in registration price.

HOUSING:

  • Housing on campus is included for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights in gender segregated dormitories.
  • We will attempt to house as many as we can in air-conditioned dorms.
  • FAMILY HOUSING: For the past few years, we have had the luxury of being able to offer family-style housing only because of an excess of dorm space. However, last summer this was maxed-out and we do not anticipate having additional air-conditioned housing available for family-style housing this summer. If you request family-style housing, it will most likely be in unairconditioned dorms.
  • Any special requests for first floor housing must be communicated to office@biblebowl.org no later than May 15 and are not guaranteed.
  • We do not accept requests for specific dorms, as dorms are assigned as efficiently as possible according to the number of people in your group.
  • Note that some dorms contain an oven, stove, and/or microwave which we are not allowed to use.
  • ANY GROUP WISHING TO STAY SUNDAY OR THURSDAY NIGHT MUST REQUEST THIS BY MAY 15 by emailing office@biblebowl.org and you will be charged at check-in for the additional charge of $15 per person per night. Availability is limited and not guaranteed.
  • Our negotiated prices with our host site are for the entire package; there is no ala-cart registration option. If you opt not to stay in dorm housing, there is no reduction in registration price.

CHECK-IN:

  • 6:00p-8:00p on Monday, June 10. If you anticipate arriving after 8:00p, please inform us at office@biblebowl.org.

T-SHIRTS:

  • Upon check-in, every person registered before the initial deadline will receive a t-shirt! Please check the t-shirt size for each member of your group on the registration system, and edit as needed. When you check-in, you will be provided with the size you entered as we have no way of knowing how much you grew or shrunk since then, and we don’t like to guess.
  • There will be very limited opportunity to exchange sizes on site.

 TEAM COMPETITION:

  • Team competition will consist of the Quick Draw tournament which seeds into the Championship and Challenger Double-Elimination brackets. The exact details will not be determined until after registration closes.

INDIVIDUAL TOURNAMENT:

  • Players are not required to participate in the Individual Tournament, and you do not need to sign up, as we leave enough space for all players to participate WHO REGISTER BY THE DEADLINE. The number of slots available is set at the registration deadline, so after that, players registering late might not get a slot in the Individual Tournament.

QUOTE BEE:

  • While optional, players must be opted-in in order for us to plan for the correct number of rooms. Please check the Quote Bee box next to each name who plans to participate in the Quote Bee. The number of slots available is set at the registration deadline, so after that, players registering late might not get a slot in the Quote Bee.

WRITTEN TEST:

  • Players are not required to take the Written Test, and you do not need to sign up as we leave enough space for all players. If a player needs a test accommodation due to a learning disability, you must email office@biblebowl.org by the deadline above (see DEADLINES) to request an accommodation and to receive instructions.

QUIZMASTERS:

  • Each group will be required to bring 1 quizmaster, then 1 additional quizmaster for every two teams you register. However, we may not need all quizmasters and will do our best to use only quizmasters who wish to quiz.

SENIOR BANQUET: NOTE CHANGE IN COST

  • The Senior Banquet is a special dinner for seniors, their parents, and main sponsor(s). Seniors are free, but the cost for everyone else is $25, regardless of whether or not you choose to eat. If you wish to attend, email office@biblebowl.org by May 15 with the number of seniors and the number of additional tickets you wish to purchase and you will be invoiced for the additional tickets.
  • Space is limited, so initially, only seniors, their parents, and main sponsor(s) may sign up, but should we have additional space, we will also make it available to anyone else in your group on a first come, first served basis.

DEADLINES:

  • April 15: Registration closes. After the deadline, teams and spectators wishing to register late are subject to availability, will not get a t-shirt, and will not be prioritized for air-conditioned dorms. Additionally, the maximum number of slots for the Individual Tournament and Quote Bee is set at the deadline, so there may not be any slots available for players registering late.
  • May 15: Special dietary requests (not guaranteed)
  • May 15: Written test disability accommodation deadline
  • May 15: Roster change deadline (teams can be rearranged before this date)
  • May 15: Senior Banquet sign-up and payment deadline
  • May 15: 1-Day Guest Badge request deadline
  • May 15: Sunday/Thursday night housing requests
  • May 15: Deposit refund deadline. NO REFUNDS AFTER THIS DATE. NO EXCEPTIONS.
